Bulletin Market, Brooklyn

Bushwick Bulletin Weekend Market

Bulletin is an online shop filled with all kinds of stuff you'd definitely want. Like graphic quilts by Louise Gray or sexy illustrated prints by Horizontal Press or leather wallets painted with pastel cheetah spots from Lillian Farag. The website is dedicated to giving independent artists and designers space to sell, and visiting it is sort of like taking a trip to a really cool gallery — except you can do it from your couch and you don't have to deal with harsh lighting or bad boxed wine.

Makes sense then that when Bulletin does a market IRL, it would be way better than most of the city's other weekend art pop-offs. First off, the space — Lot 45, an airy music venue and restaurant with a huge front garden near the Jefferson stop — is damn good in its own right. There is a cafe serving French Algerian-inspired street food out of a repurposed shipping container and a bar in the back and an ever-changing roster of DJs spinning jams. It's bright and chill and not too packed — which is great because as you're browsing tables piled high with Moroccan rugs and natural skin care and superbright resin rings and funny handmade ceramic cups, you shouldn't have to be in a rush because you're worried that you're going to miss brunch.
